Home Cooked

So you know my Korean roommate, Bianca? Well, she's not gonna be my roomie next sem when I go back though.. Not that I gave her a hard time! But coz' she memang applied for single room ever since the beginning... Just that there wasn't a vacant one.. Oh well..

So yeah before I left, she made me a sorta Korean Chinese, Kornese dinner Lol.. Ok not funny.. Yeah she and her boyfriend prepared dinner...

So she prepared this Kimchi hot pot soup.. except that it wasn't that hot... Very simple... and damn nice..

All that was needed was just...

Sausages

Tuna

and the instant Kimchi flown all the way from Korea... Her mum sends her like monthly stocks...

Just add everthing in with water and voila!

And the potatoes her boyfriend fried Lol...

Ok, now my turn... was just bored when I decided to prepare some jelly jelly...

Damn easy also wan!

Just get this "Konnyaku" jelly premix from the store

And some fruits, mix fruits, fresh or canned if you're lazy likeme like that...

First, fill up half a medium size pot with water and boil it till it's all bubbled up.. whatever that word is...

Then pour is the premix jelly powder in...

Keep stiring till it becomes errr... thick like that???

Then pour the thick already mixture into bowls or containers or better those little cups or moulds iwth the fruits already in...

Lastly, let it to cool for a while before putting them into the refrigerator till it's harden! And the bottom part of the refrigerator alright not the freezer! Less you want some jelly ice-La...

Nasi Lalapan

Last week, a friend of ours brought us to this restaurant called Surabaya. As the name tells it, it serves Indonesian dishes. And a must to try is the "Nasi Lalapan". No direct translation I suppose. Even I don't know what Lalapan means btw. So yeah, it's basically a famous Indon dish that is served on this clay plate and comes with a meat of your choice, chicken, beef or fish; vegetables, a fried "tofu", fried "tempe" and the best of all, a superly incredibly spicy "sambal". The sambal is actually like the main attraction point for the dish. And it's really really spicy. But, good!

Surabaya.

The Lalapan Dish.

Haha it was so funny watching how everyone was all sweaty and gulping down cups and cups of water.

This is Rachel/Hui from JB.

And Jawad from kenya. Haha he was on the verge of crying man Lol!

Come here and I'll take you there!

My wish for you..

Last Sunday was my niece, Valeries's 3rd birthday. I was working and couldn't spend the day with her but sis brought her to 1u. Had lunch together during my hour break then they went off to watch Beverly Chihuahua while I had to continue working. =(

After work at 6, we headed down to SS2's Wong Kok Char Chan Teng where we had a small family dinner together with the boyfriend who joined us as well.

Jogoya

I guess I should be talking bout' my Merry Little Christmas, but since it wasn't merry for me, I shall skip it. Instead I shall talk about how disappointing Jogoya's buffet was.

Haven't been there but had always wanted to go. But since it was so expensive, I never did. Then bout' 2 weeks back, Wai Yan asked me if I wanted to go to Jogoya's with Yi Ching, who just got back from Aussie and Hwee as they were having their anniversary and ladies only had to pay 50% of the price. So why not?

while waiting

Everyone was so hungry that we took almost everything but was so dissapointed! The food was so not fresh. Sashimi's were cut not into slices but more like in chunks! The sushis were overloaded with rice! The service was bad! The dishes that we needed to pre order was expected to be hot but was cold! The unagi that took half an hour to arrive came in only two very miserable pieces!!! The mushroom soup taste like burnt rice and practically everything else was unsatisfactory-La to me, for a Starhill standard. But, we still ate for an entire hour though. Oh the only satisfying part that made me a happy girl that day was the buffet spread of Haagen Dazs ice creams!!! Strawberry sorbet and rum raisin became my main course.

On the way to the toilet, saw this wall of pictures and one of it made my heart melt.

Toilet scene #1

Toilet scene #2

And then we were off to Pavilion.

A pretty giant snow globe. Without snow.

Ugly Mama Christmas tree

Ugly baby Christmas tree. Not as ugly as the Mama though. Must be from the nicer side of genes from Papa. =)

So the moral of the story is that I shall not go back to Jogoya's!

My Greatest Fear

The one word to describe how i feel lately is BOREDOM.. I tend to feel that my life is now begin to feel dull and lifeless.. I know, I know that I am barely 20 and have a life ahead of me but now.. it's just utterly dull..

I used to live a life that was exciting.. with tons of friends and wild nights almost every day.. Now, all my friends are leaving one by one, mostly to pursue higher education abroad and even the one's that are still here tend to drift apart.. Is it because I no longer have the yearning to socialize and interact with people anymore? I remember my friends used to label me as the
"bimbotic yet over friendly not forgetting loud girl".. I seem to have lost that touch of being the girl that i used to be.. Gosh I have only heard of like the mid 30's crisis, never knew there was the "end of the teen life crisis"..

Thinking back, I used to be well how should I put it... erm, sensitive? when it came to issues about how I was loud and "over-friendly" and always wanted to grow up and change. But now, I wish I was still as loud than before. I used to love wild nights, getting drunk, and puffing away like a chimney.. But now, I find myself enjoying chill out nights at bar or just a small "drinking session" with close friends talking bout future plans and you know..grown up stuffs like politics!

The point is, my greatest fear is that when all my friends are not around anymore, I'll not make any new friends and be some anti-social freak eating my lunch in the toilet cubicle..eeewww!

For now, I'm just treasuring every single moment that I'm having with my friends and here are some backdated pictures on Wai hong's belated b'day party at his place last friday..
